About virtual shiur
Virtual SHIUR: Radical Discourses is an innovative online courses designed to digitally replicate our live series and support meaningful intellectual engagement and global connections within the SHIUR community on contemporary topics. This virtual learning platform invites new and existing members to participate in dynamic, interactive discussions, enriching their understanding of diverse topics while creating lasting connections across borders.
Each course is structured as an interactive, 60-minute live video session, allowing participants (12 per course) to engage in guided text based discourse led by SHIUR leaders and deep discussions with peers in an intimate and intellectually stimulating environment. Through the Virtual SHIUR series, participants not only gain knowledge and new perspectives but also become part of a global network of thinkers, scholars, and community members passionate about learning and dialogue.
We draw on theory, philosophy, literature, and a wide range of texts—classical and contemporary, traditional and unconventional, from diverse canons. We believe that the way these texts "interact" with one another—and with our participants—can illuminate new ways of thinking and deepen our understanding of important topics. Ultimately, enabling us to act effectively and impact our world.
