SHIUr Paris: Galerie Raphaël Durazzo

ApriL 28, 2025 | 7pm

How can art reveal new insights into ancient texts and narrative? How can text based discourse create a new con-text to appreciate visual arts? In the post-October 7 world how can we re-connect and re-evaluate concepts, themes, spaces, materials, and other content that may signficantly help us in responding to the rapidly changing paradigms?

Join us for an intimate text based discourse amongst the art of Titina Maselli with SHIUR founder Micki Weinberg along with musical performances. We will be drawing on texts from theory & philosophy, Kabbalah, literature and more through a non-dogmatic lens.

Wine and snacks will be served.

The SHIUR in the Gallery series is held in concert with SHIUR gatherings in Berlin, Tel Aviv, London, New York, and Miami where people of all backgrounds come together through text-based discourse at art spaces; thinking together, reading together, developing ideas and experiences together.

Ticket include full programming, wine & drinks

this is an URGENT APPEAL TO SUPPORT SHIUR’S ISRAEL RELATED WORK

We believe, now it is crucial to work on “internal defense” by engaging with intellectual and spiritual questions that shape our sense of what Israel stands for and what it means to be Jewish and or Israelis (this includes all Arab and non-Jewish inhabitants and citizens). Given the global nature of discourse about the War, engaging in discourse with our international community is key.

Support our important actions involving Jewish & Arab, secular & religious coexistence and unity programming, including:

Regular in-person SHIUR gatherings in art galleries, cultural spaces, and other locations, where Jews and Arabs, Israelis and foreigners, come together through text-based discourse, led from both within the community as well as with different guest scholars. Thinking together, reading together, developing ideas and experiences together–is vital now as different narratives attempt to draw us apart.

Programming for Arab and Jewish youth–focusing on maintaining unity amongst the next generation. SHIUR has partnered with Mar Elias Educational Institutions in the Galilee as well as with Bedouin educators in the Negev.

Virtual SHIUR where the global community explores through text and discourse the current situation. We believe that maintaining a direct connection across borders and cultures is vital.

Original cultural programming in Israel. Art plays a vital role in times of war and instability. We support and create original art, music, and cultural events directly relating to what’s happening in Israel. We also have events in Europe and North America that are directly related to our activities in Israel—building bridges between all our communities.
